O send out Your light and Your truth; let them lead me and bring me to
the mount of Your holiness and to Your tabernacles.
Psalm 43:3
abelsoffering: Read their Inspirations
Steve's Inspirations
Steve here, and first I'd like to say thanks. Thanks to whoever reads this, and especially to God for bringing the four of us together. Even though we haven't done much yet, I already feel stronger as a person, friend, and christian. I look forward to the worshipping of God that we will be doing, both on and off the stage.
About a couple songs now--
All I Am is based off of the parenthetical postcursor, Matthew 16:24. While the original name of the tune was 13PX, a simple alpha numeric code, I thought it would be best to just boldly state where it is from, since the theme is giving up everything, denying yourself, picking up your cross, and following Christ. That is one thing that I've found to be the hardest in my walk, and that is trying to hold on to threads of the old lifestyle. This simply cannot work, as shown in many occasions throughout the Bible. Another aspect of the song is the "eye for an eye" and "turn the other cheek" allusion. As it was once said "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth," one can use that as a basis of what they should be willing to give up for Him-- the same He did for us-everything. And "while we were yet sinners," (Rom. 5:8) Jesus Christ turned the other cheek, and still died for us- a perfect example of how we should be.
I'm Done is about the crucial point in my life where I decided that I was no longer going to live two lives, only one being for God, the other for myself. This was the point that everything that didn't help my walk with Christ would be removed, cold turkey. And although most of the things that I left behind I haven't even thought of since, other ones still surface sometimes and beckon me back to their unholy grip. During those times of temptation, I try to remember the passage that says that God will never allow us to be tempted beyond our capacity, and that He will always provide a way out. I am very thankful for this, for many times it has saved me, but other times, I still found a way to get around His roadblocks. "Lord, lead me not into temptation, for I can find it well enough on my own."
